Prima Equipment was founded in 1997 as Euro Machinery. In 2007 it was purchased by Emeco (Australia). In 2010 Emeco International left Europe, for PRIMA Equipment to take over the activities.
Starting 2017, PRIMA operates independently in the Van der Spek Group, as used equipment and service provider, for many brands.
